The competitiveness clusters

What is a competitiveness cluster?

A competitiveness cluster gather together, on a given territory, companies, research laboratories and training institutions to develop synergies and cooperation.
Other partners including local and national public services, as well as services for cluster members are associated.
The challenge is to build on synergies and collaborative and innovative projects to enable involved companies to take a leading position in their fields in France and abroad.

What goals for the poles?

From a vision shared between different actors, each competitiveness cluster develops its own five-year strategy, which allows it to:

  • Increase innovation
  • Consolidate activities, mainly industrial, with an high level of technologies or creation inside a territory.
  • Improve attractiveness of France, through enhanced international visibility

Which strategy for the poles?

  • Implementing partnerships between different actors with complementary skills
  • Building collaborative strategic R & D projects that can benefit from state support, including FUI (single inter governmental minister fund)
  • Promote an overall environment conducive to innovation and helpful to actors on the pole, while driving promotional events, or mutual members support on topics such as training and human resources, industrial property, private fund, internationalization…
